Hackers broke into BitKeep users’ crypto wallets and stole $8 million in assets, cybersecurity company PeckShield reported. Supposedly, the malware download allowed the attackers to withdraw about 4,300 BNB, 5.4 million USDT, 196,000 DAI and 1,200 Ethereum.

BitKeep is a decentralized cryptocurrency wallet from Bitget that works with more than 70 different blockchains, including Polygon, Solana, BNB Chain, Ethereum, TRON, Fantom and others. The project serves nearly 6 million users in 168 countries, according to the company’s website.

The BitKeep team said that the incident is currently under investigation. If it turns out that the loss of funds was the fault of the platform, BitKeep promises to fully compensate users. Also, the developers warn that users of BitKeep 7.2.9 APK version should withdraw funds from these wallets as soon as possible.
