Apple has postponed the release of mixed reality glasses, Bloomberg reports. According to the publication’s editor Mark Gurman, Apple will release its first-ever mixed reality headset in two versions – top-of-the-line and simplified. It is expected that the premiere of the flagship headset will take place this year, and in 2024 or 2025, a cheaper and simpler version of this accessory will hit the market.

Prior to this, the US company was leading a mixed reality glasses project that Apple envisioned would allow users to wear them all day long. But due to unnamed technical problems, the release of the accessory was first delayed for several years, and now the company has minimized work on this project.

It was previously reported that Apple will unveil a headset of its own design this spring, ahead of its annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June. This will allow software creators to prepare applications for the new device before it goes on sale in the fall.
