Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UMMC), whose beneficiaries until March 14 were Iskander Makhmudov and Andrei Bokarev, and whose new owners have not been disclosed, is considering the possibility of acquiring the gold mining company Petropavlovsk. This is reported by “Kommersant” with reference to several sources in the industry.

Earlier Polymetal showed interest in the Petropavlovsk autoclave in the Amur region.

According to one of the newspaper’s interlocutors, the company sent a petition to the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS). The service said that “information on petitions submitted to the FAS of Russia, which can be published, is available in the service’s database of decisions”.

According to another source familiar with the situation, UMMC may buy out other assets in the gold mining industry. UGMK, Petropavlovsk and its shareholders did not comment.
