The U.S. stock market ended Friday trading with a decline amid negative dynamics from the sectors of technology, consumer services and finance.

At the time of closing on the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones fell by 2.73%, the S&P 500 index fell by 2.91%, the NASDAQ Composite index fell by 3.52%.

In the leaders of growth among the components of the Dow Jones index at the end of today’s trading were shares of Walmart Inc, which rose by 0.68 p. (0.56%), closing at 121.70. Quotes Verizon Communications Inc fell by 0.12p (0.24%), ending trading at 50.82. Procter & Gamble Company shares fell 0.54p (0.38%) to close at 141.95.

Dow Inc shares fell 3.99p (6.06%) to close at 61.87. Goldman Sachs Group Inc shares rose 17.20p (5.65%) to close at 287.02, while Boeing Co fell 6.73p (5.03%) to close at 127.00.

The top gainers among the S&P 500 index components in today’s trading were Newmont Goldcorp Corp, which rose 3.52% to 66.85, Cardinal Health Inc, which gained 2.12% to close at 53.46, and Hershey Co, which rose 1.86% to close at 213.35.

Leading the decline were shares of Caesars Entertainment Corporation, which declined 9.29% to close at 45.50. Illumina Inc shares lost 9.03% and ended the session at 204.19. Etsy Inc quotes declined in value by 8.70% to close at 75.84.

In the leaders of growth among the components of the index NASDAQ Composite at the end of today’s trading were the shares of RISE Education Cayman Ltd, which rose 138.46% to 3.41, Singing Machine Company Inc, which gained 60.38% to close at 6.72, as well as shares of Cogent Biosciences Inc, which rose 58.67% to close the session at 7.87.

Leading the decline were shares of ABVC Biopharma Inc, which declined 47.37% to close at 0.90. Fulcrum Therapeutics Inc shares lost 39.18% to close the session at 4.92. Axcella Health Inc quotes declined in value by 27.01% to close at 2.00.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the number of securities that fell in price (2,676) exceeded the number of securities that closed in the plus (513), and the quotations of 89 shares remained virtually unchanged. On the NASDAQ stock exchange securities of 3052 companies fell in price, 785 rose, a 165 remained at the level of the previous close.

Stock quotes Illumina Inc fell to a 3-year low, down 9.03%, 20.28 p., and ended trading at 204.19. Goldman Sachs Group Inc share prices fell to a 52-week low, down 5.65%, 17.20p, and ended trading at 287.02. ABVC Biopharma Inc share price fell to an all-time low, down 47.37%, 0.81p, and ended trading at 0.90. Fulcrum Therapeutics Inc stock price fell to a 52-week low, depreciating 39.18%, 3.17p, and ended trading at 4.92.

The CBOE Volatility Index, which is derived from the performance of options trading on the S&P 500, rose 6.36% to 27.75.

Gold futures for August delivery added 1.23%, or 22.80, to settle at $1.00 a troy ounce. As for other commodities, prices for WTI crude oil futures for delivery in July fell 0.79%, or 0.96, to $120.55 a barrel. Brent crude futures for August delivery fell 0.94%, or 1.16, to $121.91 per barrel.

Meanwhile, in the forex market, EUR/USD fell 0.91% to 1.05, while USD/JPY was up 0.09% at 134.45.

The USD index futures rose 0.96% to 104.21.
