Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced that the country is imposing new sanctions against Russia, with six individuals and 46 entities linked to the Russian defense sector coming under them, the Canadian government’s website said Monday.

“The new measures, which come on top of the Canadian government’s already powerful sanctions, include the imposition of restrictions against six individuals and 46 entities linked to the Russian defense sector,” the government said in a statement on its website.

The sanctions will affect former Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) CEO Mikhail Poluboyarinov, Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM) president Mikhail Oseevsky, Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov, Institute for Political Research LLC CEO Sergei Markov, Duma committee head for construction and housing and utilities Sergei Pakhomov and Moscow prosecutor Denis Popov.

Of the 46 legal entities under sanctions, 22 are enterprises of the corporation “Tactical Missile Armament”.

It is also noted that 15 citizens of Ukraine, supporting Russia’s actions, and 13 individuals and two legal entities from Belarus fell under the sanctions.

Trudeau said Canada will take additional measures to ban the export of certain advanced technologies that could “improve Russia’s domestic defense production capabilities,” including quantum computers and advanced manufacturing equipment.

In addition, Canada has imposed a ban on the export of advanced technologies that could be used in weapons development to Belarus, as well as a ban on the export and import of a wide range of luxury goods.

In addition, the Canadian authorities recall in a statement that together with the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan decided to impose a ban on imports of certain gold goods from Russia.
