This winter, Russian companies may pay a record total amount of dividends for this season. The total amount of payments in the period from December 2022 to January 2023 may reach 1.18 trillion rubles, writes RBC with reference to the calculations of analysts SberCIB.

At the same time, 93% of this amount are dividends from LUKOIL, Gazprom Neft and Rosneft. Experts specified that in December and January, most companies will pay interim dividends for the third quarter or nine months of 2022, and some corporations – for another 2021.

In total this year, companies from the MosBirch blue chip index, which includes 15 of the most liquid issuers on the Russian stock market, may pay out 2.9 trillion rubles, the analysts calculated.

“After relatively modest dividend payments in the summer of 2022, companies paid a record dividend volume of 1.6 trillion rubles for the fall dividend season,” they added.

Most of the dividends in the fall season (1.2 trillion rubles) came from Gazprom.
