Almost every second Russian (47%) would like to tie his salary to the dollar or euro exchange rate, 31% of fellow citizens consider such a tie unnecessary, according to the survey data of the Research Center of SuperJob.ru portal.

According to the survey, among the age categories, citizens under 34 years of age (56%) consider such a linkage to be the most optimal for themselves.

As for the preferences of respondents depending on the level of income, according to the survey, the higher the salary, the greater the desire to tie it to the dollar or euro: among respondents earning less than Br50 thousand per month, this figure is at the level of 41%, among fellow citizens with income from Br80 thousand – 51%, noted in SuperJob.ru.

According to the survey, 1% of respondents have a salary tied to the dollar or euro exchange rate: most often on such terms are working top managers of commercial divisions.

In turn, about a third of respondents (31%) consider such a peg unnecessary, arguing that they do not want to worry about every price hike, as well as the fact that they spend money exclusively in rubles, the survey shows. Every fifth participant of the survey (21%) does not know how to feel about the idea.

The survey was conducted on February 1-11, 2022 among 1.6 thousand respondents aged 18 and older, representing the economically active population of Russia and having a job, in 389 settlements of the Russian Federation, in all federal districts.
