Aeroexpress LLC increased passenger traffic by 7% in 2022 compared to 2021, up to 9.5 million people, the carrier’s press service reported.

The company’s share of the airport transportation market grew by 2.3 percentage points to 14.5%. As noted, this is the highest indicator for the period since 2017.

According to the general Director of “Aeroexpress” Andrey Akimov, who is quoted by the press service, the growth of indicators was achieved due to the launch of a bus express route to the airport “Domodedovo”, direct trains to terminals B and C “Sheremetyevo”, the introduction of new payment methods in online and offline channels.

“Aeroexpress” is engaged in the delivery of passengers to Moscow airports. The airports themselves did not disclose their statistics of last year’s passenger traffic. Last year Russian airlines carried more than 95 million people against 111 million a year earlier (-14%), reported the head of the Ministry of Transport Vitaly Savelyev.

The Aeroexpress fleet includes 11 double-decker trains of Swiss manufacturer Stadler and seven single-decker trains developed by Demikhovsky Machine Building Plant. The company also operates a bus fleet.
