Austrian refineries of oil and gas company OMV stopped processing Russian crude oil in March, TASS reported citing the company’s information.

“During March, we replaced these volumes with other crude oil from the market. At present we are not processing Russian oil,” the representative of the Austrian company noted.

It is noted that the share of imports from Russia in Austria has always been quite small. In 2021, only 7.8% of oil imported into the country was from Russia.

During March, its volume was replaced by oil from other countries. The main supplier for Austria for many years is Kazakhstan. Iraq and Libya are also significant oil imports. These countries cover 80% of the country’s needs in the resource.
