OpenAI, creator of language chatbot ChatGPT and image generator Dall-E, may face competition from Polygon’s blockchain-based artificial intelligence product called CharacterGPT, writes Business Insider.

The Dall-E generator creates images, while the CharacterGPT chatbot is designed to create a three-dimensional avatar that can answer users’ questions.

Polygon’s blockchain product has previously partnered with well-known brands Starbucks (NASDAQ:SBUX), Nike (NYSE:NKE), and Walt Disney (NYSE:DIS). Today, Polygon is working with Alethea AI to launch the NFT project CharacterGPT, or “the world’s first multimodal artificial intelligence system.”

The introductory video for this project states that users will be able to input text to create their own characters with “unique personalities, traits, voices, and bodies.” Such NFTs can be created at mycharacter.ai.

CharacterGPT’s blockchain product promises to be a competitor to Dall-E and ChatGPT, which generates text responses to typed questions, as it has generated huge interest due to its ability to write persuasive articles, cover letters, emails and messages in dating apps.

According to AI firm Alethea AI, CharacterGPT will allow people to create their own “digital doppelgangers,” virtual assistants and parody characters, among other use cases.
