VTB records a record growth in demand for digital cards “Mir”. Over the past day VTB customers opened 27 thousand cards of the National Payment System in “digital”, while on March 5 this figure amounted to 3.5 thousand, the bank said in a statement.

The decision of foreign payment systems to stop working in Russia will not affect the service of VTB clients in our country. All transactions with VISA and MasterCard cards, including payments and cash withdrawals, are still available, except for the use of PAY services, transactions abroad and payments in some online stores and online services. The Bank recommends using VISA and MasterCard plastic cards and opening a digital card “Mir” for online purchases.

The total number of Mir cards issued by VTB tends to reach 12 million.

VTB’s Mir card is accepted both in Russia and abroad: in Turkey, Vietnam, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrygzstan and Tajikistan.

VTB is also considering the possibility of launching co-branded cards of alternative payment systems, the report says.
