US investment bank Goldman Sachs has restructured its assets in Russia, RBC reports citing two sources in the investment market. According to one of them, the asset portfolio was bought out by the top management of the American bank – managing director of the European special situation group of Goldman Sachs Maxim Klimov and managing director of Goldman Sachs in Russia Anton Schrader, the deal took place last year.

According to the interlocutor, the deal could have been cash, but at a large discount. Among the main assets of Goldman Sachs in Russia, a source in the investment market named shares in HeadHunter Group (MCX:HHRUDR) (owns the HeadHunter recruitment service), Cian (MCX:CIANDR) (owns the CIAN portal) and IXcellerate (the parent company of the eponymous data center operator in Russia). According to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), to which RBC refers, a new structure – Broomfield International – has appeared among the shareholders of HeadHunter.

As of January 18, Broomfield owns 2.9% of HeadHunter (as of January 30, this company was no longer in the shareholder structure). At the same time, Goldman Sachs’ share decreased from 8.7% to 5.9%. Broomfield International Limited was first mentioned in HeadHunter’s documents in November 2022. The same company became the owner of more than 6.57 million, or 9.4%, of Cian’s shares in December, according to a document filed by the latter with the SEC. It said Broomfield International was incorporated in the Seychelles. This was in August 2022, according to the LEI Register service.

As of February 14, 2022 (the latest available data), Goldman Sachs affiliates owned 10.1% of the company. Maxim Klimov and Anton Shrader registered Broomfield Proprietary Investments, a consortium of Broomfield International, in Dubai in November 2022, according to the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) website. Klimov and Shrader several years ago were on the board of directors of the UK-registered IXcellerate, in which Goldman Sachs had 51% at the beginning of 2022.
