India is doubling its purchases of Russian oil, despite warnings from the United States. This is reported by Bloomberg.

The agency notes that the country is buying all major grades of oil from OPEC+ producer – from flagship Urals crude to Siberian ESPO oil grade.

Indian officials and traders say state-owned refiners are now looking at private deals instead of buying from open tenders to get better prices.

Last week, Joe Biden told Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that it is not in India’s interest to buy oil from Russia. Biden also added that the U.S. is willing to help the country diversify its energy imports, but that sanctions on Russian oil make it cheap and attractive.
