Russia has recorded an alarming trend in the number of coronavirus infections, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

“The figures are really growing. We see that the curve has crept upward, it is not only in our country, but in a number of countries such dynamics is alarming is observed,” he said.

Peskov advised those citizens who are concerned about it to take necessary precautions, including wearing masks.

According to the operative headquarters, over the past day in Russia, more than 11.5 thousand new cases of COVID-19 were detected, almost 1.5 thousand people were hospitalized, 41 patients died.

The growth of the number of hospitalizations was noted in 31 subjects of Russia, the decrease in the number of hospitalizations occurred in 40 regions of the country. The situation remained unchanged in 14 subjects, specified in the operative headquarters.
