Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said that the opportunities for a dialog between Russia and the United States on security issues in Europe are “far from exhausted”. He said this during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin.

“We warn against the inadmissibility of endless conversations on issues that need to be resolved today. But still, perhaps, being the head of the Foreign Ministry, I must say that there is always a chance. <…> It seems to me that our opportunities are far from exhausted. Of course, they should not continue indefinitely, but at this stage I would suggest that they [the talks] continue and increase,” Lavrov said.

According to the minister, Russia has already decided on its reaction to the US and NATO responses to the security guarantees offered by Moscow. Russia’s position took up 10 sheets, but Lavrov did not disclose the contents of the document.
