Lukoil considers publications about its supplies of fuel to Ukraine from a Bulgarian refinery “deliberately false and unsubstantiated” and calls them part of European domestic political disputes. The company has warned that it is ready to defend its business reputation in court, according to Kommersant.

Lukoil denies another information about the company’s deliveries of oil products from its refinery in Bulgaria to Ukraine and considers such publications as an attempt to solve European internal political disputes. Lukoil has no contracts and did not supply its products to Ukraine in 2022 from the refinery in Burgas, Bulgaria, or through any other channels, the company said.

The company said that “deliberately false, unsubstantiated and provocative information was thrown in by our country’s opponents in European countries to solve their purely internal political disputes”. Lukoil believes that this may be related to the fact that elections are expected in a number of countries.

“The appearance of information about such fuel supplies to Ukraine and artificial replication in the public space of Russia is connected, in our opinion, with unscrupulous competitive struggle in the domestic energy market. Such incorrect behavior of some market participants contradicts not only the principles of healthy competition, but also seriously interferes with the normal operation of the Russian fuel and energy complex and Lukoil in the acute geopolitical situation, encourages the initiators of anti-Russian provocations,” the company said.

The company said that it reserves the right to appeal to the court to protect its business reputation.
