Moscow Exchange plans to launch trading in futures on Japan’s Nikkei index and Germany’s DAX index in a few weeks. This was announced by Kirill Pestov, Managing Director of Mosbirzh Business Development Department, at the forum “Russian Financial Market Facing Global Challenges. Results and forecasts”, RBC reports.

“In the next couple of weeks we plan to launch Nikkei and DAX as well. There are big plans for this year to launch futures on indices of South Asian countries, [besides] we are looking at Turkey, Brazil, which are friendly [countries], with which we have a growing trade turnover,” Pestov said.

“These are, as a rule, settlement futures that do not involve delivery of an asset, and they are fully settled in Russian rubles, that is, they fully utilize domestic infrastructure,” he added.

Mosbirzhi’s plans to launch trading in these instruments became known last December.

“The market, and first of all the retail segment, gets a safe instrument with the possibility of investing in global benchmarks”, – Kirill Pestov noted at that time.
