The CEO of electric car maker Tesla Inc, Ilon Musk, said on Thursday that Tesla’s Artificial Intelligence Day (AI Day) has been moved to September 30, Reuters writes.

“Tesla’s AI Day has been moved to September 30 as we may have an Optimus prototype by then,” he wrote on Twitter.

Recall that the Tesla Bot, also known as Optimus, is a general-purpose humanoid robot that was presented at the AI Day event on August 19, 2021. Ilon Musk said Tesla plans to release a prototype of the robot by 2022.

“Optimus will eventually be able to solve the global labor shortage and transport goods around the factory in the short term,” Musk said in January.

Musk previously announced on Twitter the date of the event on Aug. 19.

This will be Tesla’s second Artificial Intelligence Day.

Musk also said in one of his tweets in May that one of the goals of such an event is to convince AI and software talent to join the Tesla team.
