Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree “On the application of retaliatory special economic measures in connection with unfriendly actions of some foreign states and international organizations”. The document is posted on the official Internet portal of legal information.

According to the text of the decree, federal government agencies, government agencies of the constituent entities of the country, other government agencies, local authorities, organizations and individuals under the jurisdiction of Russia are prohibited from making transactions (including the conclusion of foreign trade contracts) with persons under sanctions.

In addition, a ban is imposed on the export outside Russia of products and raw materials produced and extracted in the country, “provided that such products and (or) raw materials are supplied in favor of sanctioned persons and (or) by sanctioned persons in favor of other persons.”

Putin instructed the Russian government to approve the list of persons under restrictive measures in 10 days.
