In Russia, amid the improvement of the epidemic situation, previously imposed restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic are being lifted, in particular, the mask regime is canceled, Rospotrebnadzor reported.

“In connection with the continuing decline in the intensity of the epidprocess Rospotrebnadzor suspends previously imposed restrictions, including the mask regime, a ban on the work of public catering at night and a number of other measures”, – stated in the message of the press service of the agency.

Thus, the mandatory wearing of masks, ban on mass events and restrictions in public catering, previously introduced by the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova, are canceled.

At the same time, the agency emphasized that in case of deterioration of the situation on COVID-19 “the action of restrictive measures can be resumed”. Anti-epidemic measures for timely identification of the sick and measures to ensure monitoring of the epidemic process are also preserved.

Rospotrebnadzor specified that during the last four months in Russia there has been a steady decline in the incidence of coronavirus, and also recalled that taking into account this dynamics and the characteristics of the strain “Omicron” from March 1 were minimized restrictive measures for a number of industries. The gradual lifting of restrictions, as emphasized in the agency, “did not lead to negative changes in the trends of the epidemic process in the country”.
