Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that if European countries refuse to pay for Russian gas in rubles, the fuel will definitely not be supplied for free. He also admitted that Russia will start selling oil to Southeast Asia if Europe refuses to buy Russian raw materials, Kommersant reported.

Peskov also said that Russia does not yet know exactly what measures it will take if Europe refuses to pay for gas in rubles. However, he said, in this case Russia will definitely not supply gas to the EU for free.

“The fact that we will not supply gas for free is unambiguous. It can be said with absolute certainty,” he said.

In addition, Dmitry Peskov said that the “falling bids for oil” from European buyers will be compensated by the sale of this raw material to Southeast Asia. He emphasized that Europe is not the only market for oil.
