“Sber is considering the possibility of shutting down its gaming division SberGames, sources in the gaming market told Kommersant.

One of the interlocutors specified that the structures of the sanctioned bank will probably not be able to publish games on mobile application marketplaces.

The interlocutor in a major game studio added that SberGames employees are now looking for work. A Sber spokesperson said that the bank is “working on different strategies to manage the asset.”

The fact that Sber intends to enter the games segment became known in the spring of 2001: at that time the bank’s subsidiary Sberintertainment announced the launch of Sber Games.
