Japanese home appliance manufacturer Sharp has decided to suspend deliveries to Russia due to the special operation in Ukraine, according to a message on the company’s official website.

“We at Sharp Group are deeply concerned about the conflict developing in Ukraine. To support the humanitarian program, our businesses will make local donations to charities involved in this effort. Sharp Group is currently suspending shipments to Russia due to the impact of the conflict,” Sharp said.

The day before, on March 22, a similar decision was made by Japanese IT giant NEC. The computer and networking equipment manufacturer expressed support for “all those affected by the tragic situation in Ukraine” and condemned “any unlawful use of force that violates human rights.”

“In addition to complying with the orders of the Japanese government and the international community, the NEC Group has suspended all future sales of products and services, as well as future investments in Russia,” the company said.
