Oil production in Russia in early May is higher than in April, the situation with refining is stable, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters yesterday during a parade.

Asked about the possibility of a greater decline in oil refining in May compared to April, Novak said: “If you look at the figures for early May, we have better indicators than in April, that is, the situation is stable. Production has increased compared to April. We expect that in April and May the indicators will be partially restored and improved.”

According to the statistics data, which were reviewed by Interfax, the average daily production of oil with condensate in April fell by almost 9% compared to March, while in the first days of May production increased by about 2% compared to April.
