Code fragments from Yandex’s internal repository – a tool for storing and working with code – have been made publicly available, Forbes writes, citing the company’s press service. Earlier it was reported in social networks that 44.7 GB of Yandex source codes were leaked to the Internet. The company is conducting an internal investigation, Yandex denies the fact of hacking.

“Yandex security service found in the public domain code fragments from the internal repository. However, their content differs from the current version of the repository, which is used in Yandex services,” the press service said.

The company emphasized that the repositories have nothing to do with users’ personal data. According to the TASS source, code fragments from the repository ended up in the public domain through the fault of a company employee.

“We are conducting an internal investigation about the reasons for the source code fragments getting into public access, but we do not see any threat to our users’ data or the platform’s performance,” the press service assured.
