The application of music streaming service Spotify has been removed from the App Store and Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Play app stores in Russia. This decision was taken in response to the Russian special operation in Ukraine, Kommersant reported.

Earlier, on March 3, Spotify closed its office in Russia and removed Russian media content. On March 6, the music service canceled Premium subscription for Russians.

Also on April 7, it became known that the streaming service decided to “completely suspend” work in Russia from April 11. Messages about this appeared on the platform’s tech support site and in the official Twitter account.
