The Nord Stream pipelines were sabotaged and explosive residues were found. This was reported by the Swedish Prosecutor’s Office during the investigation of the incident.

According to the agency, from the site of explosions on the “Nord Streams” lifted physical evidence confirming sabotage. These are “foreign objects” with traces of used explosives.

The prosecutor’s office noted that the ongoing investigation should show whether any party can be suspected of committing sabotage.

The accident of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines occurred on the night of September 26, 2022. Leaks were found on the pipes of these pipelines in three places: two on Nord Stream-1 and one on Nord Stream-2.

On September 29, Sweden announced the discovery of a fourth leak. The damage occurred in Denmark’s exclusive economic zone northeast of Bornholm Island and in the Swedish exclusive zone.
