The main contribution to the increase in Gazprom (MCX:GAZP) reserves due to exploration in 2022 was made by the Tambeyskoye and Pestsovoye fields, said Vitaly Markelov, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee, in an interview with the Gazovaya Promyshlennost magazine.

“The increase in hydrocarbon reserves due to exploration, as in the previous 17 years, exceeded production volumes. The main growth came from the Tambeyskoye field on the Yamal Peninsula and the Pestsovoye field in the Nadym-Pur-Taz region of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District,” the gasman said.

“The most important task for Gazprom is to build up its mineral resource base and conduct geological exploration from the Kara Sea to the Kamchatka Territory. More than 50 thousand meters have been penetrated in prospecting and exploration drilling, 19 wells have been completed, 3D seismic surveys have been carried out in the volume of more than 8 thousand square kilometers,” he informed.

Markelov emphasized that in 2022, together with Gazprom Group’s strategic Russian partners, significant progress was made in the implementation of projects in the field of hydrocarbon field development.

“In particular, we started active production activities at two joint ventures established on a parity basis at once. This is Gazprom Dobycha Tambey, which will develop the Tambey field, the largest on the Yamal Peninsula, in partnership with RusGazDobycha. The second enterprise is OOO Layavozhneftegaz, designed to combine the scientific and technical potential and experience of Gazprom Group and PJSC LUKOIL (MCX:LKOH) in the field of gas and oil production to jointly develop the Vaneyvisskoye and Layavozhskoye fields located in the Nenets Autonomous District, with additional synergies from the maximum utilization of the existing production infrastructure of the parties,” the manager stated.

“December was marked for us by the start of gas production at the unique Semakovskoye field, for the development of which RusGazAlliance LLC, established on a parity basis with RusGazDobycha, drilled wells with a large vertical deviation to extract reserves located in the Tazov Bay of the Kara Sea. The production facilities built as part of the first phase of the Semakovskoye field development will make it possible to reach a gas production level of 7.5 billion cubic meters per year,” the Deputy Chairman also reminded.
