In January, the population bought currency by $2.2m more than it sold it. This is stated in the reporting data of the NBU.
In the cash foreign exchange market in January, net purchase of currency by the population exceeded the sale.
In January, Ukrainians sold currency for 1,627.5 million dollars in equivalent, and bought 1,629.8 million dollars in equivalent.
Thus, the population for the first time bought more currency than sold.
According to the results of 2021, the population sold currency by 1,214.7 million dollars more than bought.
At the end of 2020, the volume of cash currency sales exceeded the volume of purchases by 1.098 billion dollars.
In 2019, the population sold currency by 177 million dollars more than it bought.
