A short working week and a long weekend are coming to Russians in connection with the celebration of Russia Day on June 12, the press service of Rostrud reported.

“This year June 12 falls on Sunday, so the weekend will last from Saturday, June 11, to Monday, June 13, inclusive,” the press service said on Wednesday.

It reminded that non-working holidays can not be a reason to reduce the wages of employees receiving a salary.

“In case the salary is not set, for example, to workers with piecework wages, for non-working holidays, in which they were not involved in work, additional remuneration is paid. Its amount is established by collective agreement, agreements or local normative act”, – specified in Rostrud.
