Japan’s Toyota Motor Corp. increased production by 1.5% in November compared to the same month last year to 833,104,000, the company said. That’s a record high for the month, Kyodo News noted.

Toyota increased output at its overseas plants by 3.8% to 566,93 thousand vehicles. Including in North America, it increased by 5.9%, and in China – fell by 11.1% due to a shortage of spare parts.

Production at Japanese plants decreased by 3.3% to 266.174 thousand cars.

Toyota’s global sales in November increased by 2.9% to 796.484 thousand cars. In particular, domestically they decreased by 5.5% to 109.985 thousand.

Car sales abroad increased by 4.4% to 686.499 thousand, including sales in the North American market jumped by 11%, and in the Chinese market – collapsed by 18.4%.

The company’s production and sales growth in November was recorded for the fourth consecutive month.

Toyota lowered its forecast for vehicle production in fiscal 2022, which ends in March, to 9.2 million from the previously expected 9.7 million due to a shortage of semiconductor components.

Stock quotes of Toyota rose 0.3% at the end of trading on Monday. The market value of the automaker has fallen by 13.4% since the beginning of this year, while the Nikkei 225 stock index fell by 8.3%.
