Trade turnover between Turkey and Russia in 2022 is projected at about $50 billion against $35 billion in 2021, Turkish Ambassador to Russia Mehmet Samsar told reporters on the sidelines of the Innoprom-2022 exhibition. Thus, the indicator this year may grow by 43%.

“Last year $35 billion (was the trade turnover between Turkey and the Russian Federation – IF). This year we expect that it could be about $50 billion (. . . .). Because in the first six months (of 2022 – IF) already $30 billion trade turnover has reached,” he said.

According to Samsar, the increase in trade turnover is expected against the backdrop of “increased cooperation and trade due to special conditions” as well as higher energy prices.
