Russia’s Transneft has reported an attempted shelling of an oil pumping station through which the Druzhba oil pipeline passes.

The oil pumping station is located in the Novozybkovsky district of the Bryansk region, and the attempted shelling allegedly occurred on the evening of January 31, bbc.com reported

The company said that the oil pipeline was operating normally and that no one was injured as a result of the shelling.

“Last night [January 31] there was an attempt to shell the Novozybkovo oil pumping station. The station is used during peak loads on the Druzhba oil pipeline in a one-off mode. The last time the pumping station was turned on for a few hours, and that was last year,” said company spokesman Igor Demin.

Earlier, the telegram channel Mash wrote about the impact on the oil pipeline “Druzhba”, which allegedly resulted in a 20-meter crater.

The governor of Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, reported the day before that as a result of the strike the power supply in two settlements was disrupted, but it was restored on the night of February 1.
