Founder of social network Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) Jack Dorsey thanked billionaire Ilon Musk, who previously agreed to buy 100% of the service for $44 billion. Dorsey shared his opinion on the deal on his Twitter account.

“Twitter as a company has always been my only problem and my biggest regret. It was owned by Wall Street and an advertising model. Taking it away from Wall Street is the right first step,” wrote the social network founder, who left the company last fall.

According to the businessman, the platform he created should not have an owner or manager: “It wants to be a public good at the protocol level, not a company.” As of today, Musk’s purchase of Twitter is “the only decision I trust,” Dorsey pointed out.
