Britain has decided to impose new sanctions against Russia and Belarus in order to limit Moscow’s ability to conduct a special military operation. This is stated on the website of the British government.

Thus, the kingdom will increase duties on imports of Russian chemicals, platinum and palladium up to 35%. This decision will affect imports worth 1.4 billion pounds (more than $1.7 billion).

“Russia is one of the leading platinum and palladium producing countries and is heavily reliant on the UK for exports of platinum and palladium products,” the report explained.

The decision also affects Belarus. As a result, in the aggregate, this measure will affect imports worth 1.7 billion pounds (almost $2.1 billion).

The UK also imposes export restrictions, which will affect the most important goods for Russia (chemicals, plastics, rubber and various equipment) worth more than 250 million pounds (about $307 million).
