Unemployment in the UK, calculated according to the methodology of the International Labor Organization (ILO), in February-April 2022 was 3.8%, according to data from the country’s Office for National Statistics (ONS). In November 2021-January 2022, the figure was 4.0%.

There were 1.3 million unemployed people in February-April, 355,000 fewer than a year earlier and 46,000 fewer than in November-January.

The employment rate in the UK in February-April was 75.6%.

The number of jobs in the UK in February-April in annualized terms increased by 533 thousand – to 32.707 million. Compared to the previous three months, the number of employed increased by 177 thousand.

In May 2022, the registered unemployment rate (the share of Britons receiving unemployment benefit and actively looking for a new job) amounted to 4.0% compared to 4.1% in April.
