Unemployment in the UK, calculated according to the methodology of the International Labor Organization (ILO), in August-October 2022 was 3.7%, according to data from the National Statistics Office (ONS) of the country. In May-July this year, the figure was 3.6% – the lowest level since mid-1974.

The UK’s employment rate was 75.6% in August-October, up from 75.4% three months earlier.

There were 1.247 million unemployed in August-October, 176,000 fewer than a year earlier and 23,000 more than in May-July this year.

The number of jobs in the UK in August-October in annual terms increased by 190 thousand – up to 32.773 million. Compared to the previous three months, the number of those employed increased by 27 thousand.

In November 2022, the level of registered unemployment (the share of Britons receiving unemployment benefit and at the same time actively looking for a new job) amounted to 3.9% as a month earlier.
