The U.S. stock market ended Monday’s trading with a decline amid negative dynamics from the sectors of oil and gas, technology and raw materials.

At the time of closing on the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones fell by 1.99%, reaching a 52-week low, the S&P 500 index fell by 3.20%, the NASDAQ Composite index fell by 4.29%.

In the leaders of growth among the components of the index Dow Jones at the end of today’s trading were shares of 3M Company, which rose by 2.85 p. (1.91%), closing at 152.38. Walmart Inc rose 1.75p (1.17%) to close at 151.31. Amgen Inc rose 2.67p (1.13%) to close at 239.17.

Boeing C shares fell 15.59p (10.47%) to close at 133.31. Chevron Corp shares climbed 11.44p (6.70%) to close at 159.25, while Visa Inc Class A shares fell 9.82p (4.84%) to close at 193.00.

The top gainers among the S&P 500 index components in today’s trading were Newell Brands Inc, up 7.92% to 24.26, Viatris Inc, up 5.33% to close at 10.48, and News Corp, up 4.14% to close at 17.61.

Leading the decline were shares of APA Corporation, which declined 14.92% to close at 37.53. Shares of Marathon Oil Corporation lost 14.03% and ended the session at 24.20. Quotes of The Mosaic Company decreased in price by 12.79% to 55.86.

In the leaders of growth among the components of the index NASDAQ Composite at the end of today’s trading were the shares of Hemisphere Media Group Inc, which rose by 78.78% to 6.74, Blue Water Vaccines Inc, which gained 44.15% to close at 5.42, as well as shares of Points International Ltd, which rose by 42.46% to close the session at 24.46.

Leading the decline were shares of Akanda Corp, which declined 74.56% to close at 2.29. Renovare Environmental Inc shares lost 40.76% to end the session at 0.18. Quotes of TherapeuticsMD Inc decreased in price by 36.86% to close at 4.84.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the number of securities that fell in price (2891) exceeded the number of securities that closed in the plus (401), and the quotations of 72 shares remained virtually unchanged. On the NASDAQ stock exchange securities of 3343 companies fell in price, 624 rose, a 182 remained at the level of the previous close.

Boeing Co. shares fell to a 52-week low, down 10.47%, 15.59 p., and ended trading at 133.31. Akanda Corp’s share price fell to an all-time low, down 74.56%, 6.71p, and ended trading at 2.29. Renovare Environmental Inc) share price fell to an all-time low, depreciating 40.76%, 0.13p, and ended trading at 0.18. Points International Ltd share price rose to a high, up 42.46%, 7.29p, and ended trading at 24.46. TherapeuticsMD Inc stock price fell to a 3-year high, down 36.86%, 2.82p, and ended trading at 4.84.

The CBOE Volatility Index, which is derived from the performance of options trading on the S&P 500, rose 15.10% to 34.75, hitting a new one-month high.

Gold futures for June delivery lost 1.65%, or 31.15, to settle at $1.00 a troy ounce. As for other commodities, prices for WTI crude oil futures for delivery in June fell 6.67%, or 7.32, to $102.45 a barrel. Brent crude futures for July delivery fell 6.41%, or 7.20, to $105.19 per barrel.

Meanwhile, on the forex market, EUR/USD was essentially unchanged 0.09% to 1.06, while USD/JPY fell 0.23% to 130.26.

The USD index futures rose 0.05% to 103.75.
