The U.S. stock market ended Monday trading with growth due to the strengthening of the technology, oil and gas and telecommunications sectors.

At the time of closing on the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones rose by 0.26%, the S&P 500 index rose by 0.57%, the NASDAQ Composite index rose by 1.63%.

In the leaders of growth among the components of the index Dow Jones at the end of today’s trading were shares of Intel Corporation, which rose by 1.37 p. (3.14%), closing at 44.96. Microsoft Corporation rose 6.95 p. (2.50%) to close at 284.47. Home Depot Inc rose 6.57p (2.19%) to close at 306.97.

Coca-Cola Co shares fell 1.17p (1.81%) to close at 63.44. American Express Company shares rose 3.09p (1.77%) to close at 171.62, while UnitedHealth Group Incorporated fell 7.40p (1.46%) to close at 501.15.

The top gainers among the S&P 500 index components in today’s trading were EPAM Systems Inc, up 8.87% to 288.50, Align Technology Inc, up 6.54% to close at 308.88, and CarMax Inc, up 6.25% to close at 91.14.

Leading the decline were shares of Global Payments Inc, which declined in value by 9.21% to close at 124.36. Iron Mountain Incorporated shares lost 5.64% and ended the session at 50.70. Quotes of Moodys Corporation decreased in price by 4.85% to 301.13.

In the leaders of growth among the components of the index NASDAQ Composite at the end of today’s trading were shares of Better Therapeutics Inc, which rose 120.39% to 2.01, SoundHound AI Inc , which gained 68.46% to close at 10.95, as well as shares of Redbox Entertainment Inc, which rose 42.64% to close the session at 8.53.

Leading the decline were shares of First Wave BioPharma Inc, which declined 35.42% to close at 0.40. Stealth BioTherapeutics Corp shares lost 31.83% and ended the session at 0.28. Galmed Pharmaceuticals Ltd quotes decreased in price by 26.51% to close at 1.22.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the number of securities that fell in price (1791) exceeded the number of securities that closed in the plus (1419), and the quotations of 160 shares remained virtually unchanged. On the NASDAQ stock exchange securities of 2318 companies rose in price, 1525 decreased, a 244 remained at the level of the previous close.

Stock quotes of Moodys Corporation fell to a 52-week low, down 4.85%, 15.35 p., and ended trading at 301.13. First Wave BioPharma Inc stock price fell to an all-time low, down 35.42%, 0.22p, and ended trading at 0.40. SoundHound AI Inc stock price rose to an all-time low, up 68.46%, 4.45p, and ended trading at 10.95. Stealth BioTherapeutics Corp stock price fell to an all-time low, down 31.83%, 0.13p, and ended trading at 0.28. Galmed Pharmaceuticals Ltd stock price fell to an all-time low, down 26.51%, 0.44p, and ended trading at 1.22.

The CBOE Volatility Index, which is derived from the performance of options trading on the S&P 500, fell 3.17% to 32.34.

Gold futures for June delivery lost 2.61%, or 49.83, to settle at $1.00 a troy ounce. As for other commodities, prices for WTI crude oil futures for delivery in June rose 0.59%, or 0.62, to $105.31 a barrel. Brent crude futures for July delivery rose 0.60%, or 0.64, to $107.78 per barrel.

Meanwhile, in the forex market, EUR/USD was essentially unchanged 0.36% to 1.05, while USD/JPY was up 0.24% at 130.15.

The USD index futures rose 0.68% to 103.66.
