Payment system Visa has extended the period of work with Russian cards for one day – until March 11, follows from the company’s message.

Starting from this date, cards issued in Russia will not work abroad and will not be accepted for payment in foreign online stores. Domestically, Visa cards will continue to work as usual until their expiration date. Transactions on them have been processed by the National Payment Card System since 2015.

On Sunday, Visa said it would stop servicing Russian cards from 00:01 Moscow time on March 10.

Earlier Mastercard, American Express and JCB also announced the suspension of work in the Russian market.
